Greater Princeton AYLUS Promotes Youth Volunteerism at Chess Classes & Tournaments (74th) in July 2022

The Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) Sports Committee promotes youth volunteerism while continuing tournaments and a chess schedule with Chess 5334 classes during the summer of 2022. Before class, GPA gives a quick presentation about what AYLUS is and what we do for the community at AYLUS to the students.

We are introducing a new chess class where students train their tactic skills by solving mates in 1s, 2s, and 3s. Eager chess players meet every week to solve some of the most classic chess positions from Chess 5334. This week was the first week, where students introduced themselves to the other students as well as solved many mates in 2 problems .

GPA Volunteers: Sarah Yan (7/5, 2 hrs, + 2 hrs flyers + report), Erick Yan (7/5, 2 hrs), George Chen (7/5, 2 hrs)

GPA Chess Club’s next tournament will be hosted on Saturday, July 9th, starting at 7PM EST. The time control will remain the same (G10+5) and everyone is welcome. All ages can come and compete with their skills and have fun playing games of chess.
