Greater Memphis Branch tutors Different Subjects in April (#1)

On April 2nd, Eunice Yuri Yi tutored Joyce Situ. They reviewed punnet squares, line plots, and completed reading comprehension and vocabulary. Additionally, they did main ideas and predictions for stories. (1 hr)

On April 9th, Eunice Yuri Yi and Joyce Situ completed more reading comprehension questions. They reviewed sequencing, main ideas, fact and opinion, and story elements. (1 hr)

On April 16th, Eunice Yi made a review sheet that Joyce worked on. They finished grammar worksheets like punctuation, sentences, and commas. (1 hr)

On April 23th, Eunice Yuri Yi and Joyce Situ learned simple, compound, and complex sentences and constructed their own sentences. They also learned the deeper meanings of hyperboles. (1 hr)

 


On April 5th, Priyanka Phaniraj and Maxwell read a passage and answered several questions about context clues, main ideas, and vocabulary. In the end, they asked each other multiple questions to help Maxwell speak English more fluently, and received answers. (2 hrs)

On April 20th,  Phaniraj and Maxwell read two stories (linked below) and talked about big vocabulary words that Maxwell did not understand. They then discussed the main idea of each paragraph and answered the comprehension questions at the bottom. (1 hr)

On Sunday, April 10th, Kerry Zhao tutored Joseph Zhao and Eric Chen in math. They used the Beast Academy 5b book and completed exercises from there. Overall, they covered the uses of factorizing a number. (1 hr)

On April 16, Eilene Liu taught Alaina Lin how to write an expository essay. She taught her the steps and walked her through writing one (1 hr).
On April 23, they reviewed estimating measurements, which Alaina did well on. They then moved on and learned how to convert metric units. (1.25 hrs)
