Greater Princeton AYLUS Starts Shoe Drive between April and May 2021

Give a Shoe, Save a Life!

Did you know that 767 million people around the world live on less than $1.90 per day? For many people in developing nations, finding a job that generates a sustainable income is difficult. Many go hungry and are barefoot all year round.

On April 20th, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) started a new initiative to help people in poverty and make the world a little better. GPA collects all styles and sizes of new or gently worn shoes. All donations will go to Soles 4 Souls, an organization committed to helping people around the world overcome these obstacles by giving them shoes for themselves and their families.

Please tie pairs of shoes together or use a rubber band to keep them together. When donating cloth shoes please put them in a ziplock bag or other type of bag.

The collection takes place from April 20th to May 30th 2021.

Project led by GPA Education Committee Chair Donna Nagorny (4/20, 3 hrs making flyers), and leadership team members Alissa Wu and Cassie Wang.

Shoes Donated by: Fiona Fan (4/22, 3 hrs), Lana Cheng (4/23, 3 hrs), Yan Fischer (4/23, 2 hrs), Cici Yang (4/23, 2 hrs), Vivien Yang (4/23, 2 hrs), Xiying Fan (4/23, 2 hrs), Lina Yang (4/23, 2 hrs), Fengqi Wen (4/24, 5 hrs), Annie Miao (4/25, 3 hrs), Donna Nagorny (4/30, 3 hrs), Steven Li (4/30, 3 hrs), and more.
