Greater Princeton AYLUS Continues Math Tutoring for Kids (55th) in February 2021

In February 2021, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) teamed up and continued teaching kids in the subjects of math.

GPA member Annie Miao (2/14, 2 hrs): This week, Annie continued tutoring her 5th-grade student about lines and this time continued talking about the rules of Standard Form and introduced finding a point on a line given a known y or x value.

GPA members Karen Yang, Kevin Song, Kathy Yang continued Algebra content! First, we gave the kids a check in question. After, we did some simplifying warm-up questions. Then we solved some two-step equation problems and special exceptions to equations and a special challenge problem. After that, we did word problems surrounding translating the words into equations. Similarly, we did some clearing problems by teaching students how to multiply and distribute fractions throughout the equation. Next, we did a review game with Gimkit software, similar to Kahoot! Finally, we introduced homework and we’ll be having class in two weeks!

GPA member Annabelle Huang also continued teaching her students in Edison on PSAT for math.
