Greater Princeton AYLUS Holiday Performance Gift to Healthcare Professionals and Everyone in December 2020

2020 is to take the title of the worst year in modern history from the coronavirus outbreak to many disasters around the world. As the Holiday Season finally arrives, to thank all doctors, nurses, emergency medical services, firefighters, and many more for saving countless lives this year, AYLUS wanted to send all healthcare professionals and everyone a special gift performance.

On December 19th, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) members completed the editing of art performances including singing, dancing, and playing instruments. We wish that it may bring joy to essential workers and let them know that we appreciate their contributions for the communities.

The concert has sections of singing, dancing, and instruments. Between sections there is a sort of intermission where Narrator Annabelle Huang inserted a few words to talk about our thanks for healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses), emergency medical services, rescue squads, firefighters, and more this year.

Singing – AYLUS members submitted many vocal performances to enjoy. There are many categories of submission, including opera and contemporary. They have performed in many previous charity performances and competed in competitions and won awards.

Dancing – AYLUS members submitted many of their dance performances, including Chinese classical and folklore, Korean pop, ballet dance pieces. There are deep culture references and stories behind every piece and a message they try to convey. For example, Annabelle Huang’s classical Chinese dance piece conveys the longing for losing genuine love, an ancient Chinese tale told amongst ethnic groups and has passed down from centuries.

Classical music – many talented AYLUS members showcased their piano skills through years of hard work and dedication. They are passionate about playing the instrument and have performed in many Charity shows, competitions, and culture fairs.

Orchestra – AYLUS members are also talented in performing orchestra instruments including the violin and zither.
