Greater Princeton AYLUS Teamed Up to Tutor Kids Math (42nd) First Week in November 2020

During the 1st week in November 2020, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) teamed up and continued teaching kids in the subjects of math.

GPA members Karen Yang, Kevin Song, Kathy Yang (11/8, 1.5 hrs): This week we continued our Algebra content! First, we gave the students a refresher on our rules and expectations, because there were a lot more new students. Some of these rules include coming to class on time, cameras on, taking part in class and joining our new google classroom. We then did an introduction of each of us to better know one another. We then reviewed what our course was going to be about and got the kids started on a challenging pretest, so Kevin and Karen could gauge where they were at in terms of math levels. Then, we assigned homework for the next class. We’ll be having class next Sunday!

GPA member Annie Miao (11/6, 2 hrs; 11/8, 2 hrs): This past week, Annie tutored two middle schoolers in math for her 8th week of tutoring with LEAF Learning. This time, she helped one of her students prepare for her upcoming chapter 4 tests in Algebra I about linear functions. She gave her other student a review of what she learned so far and then taught an introduction to percentages.
