East Cobb Branch Partnered With Marietta Maker Station To Assemble Shield Mask XIV

On August 15th, 2020, eight AYLUS members went to The Maker Station to continue assembling greatly-needed shield masks in a partnership with Atlanta Beats Covid (ABC). These masks were in turn packaged and ready for delivery to various public services in the Cobb area.

When the members arrived, they were split up into multiple groups, and each group performed certain tasks. For example, Sean worked on packaging various face shields while Emily and Kevin prepared the cushion part of the shield masks, and Emilie disinfected the 3D-printed frames before helping with packaging, Maxwell, supervised by ABC director, operated the laser cutter to cut films.

The members had some breaks here and there, but they were all enthusiastic of their task at hand. They all worked diligently for they knew that by donating these shield masks and spending effort and time doing so will greatly help the healthcare workers in their area.

After three hours of hard work, the members assembled and packaged around 400 face shields.

Attendances: Emily Sun(3 hrs), Jay Pan(3 hrs), Maxwell Jiang(3 hrs), Sean Yan(3 hrs), Saloni Jain(3 hrs),  Adit Jain (3 hours), Kevin Shen(3 hrs), Emilie Cam(3 hrs)
