East Cobb Branch Partnered With Marietta Maker Station To Assemble Shield Mask VIII

On July 3rd, 2020, the AYLUS East Cobb Branch continued their partnership with the local volunteer group The Maker Station at Marietta to assemble and package the much-needed face shields for the various public services in Cobb County.

Four members volunteered that day and were split into pairs to two different tasks. Jay, Cynthia, and Kevin assembled the face shields while Gary and Sean packaged them into bags. Instead of 3D printed frames, a plastic cover was attached to a premade silicone headset to

create a facial shield mask. At the packaging station, one person sprayed cleaning chemicals and wiped each side of the shield, while the other person would put ten shields each in a bag with instructions and a sticker. Charlie and the parent volunteer scratching and smoothing the edge of connecting parts.

After hours of work, the four members assembled roughly 200 face shields and packaged all of them.
