20181020 East Cobb Branch Held Youth Tutoring Program VI

On Saturday, October 20th, the tutoring sessions were held at East Cobb Library by the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS for students in Elementary and Middle school to attend. Our five tutors, Cynthia Ruan, Rachel Li, David Qu, Eileen Zhang, and Maxwell Jiang helped the students in either mathematics or reading. Tutors went over previous tests, quizzes, and assignments with the students to help correct any mistakes. Reading students also practicing reading comprehension by reading a variety of reading passages.

For example, one student in 3rd grade came in to practice reading fluency. Our tutor helped her practice reading by finding reading passages that the student was interested in and went through reading the passages with her, aiding in helping her pronounce some of the more complex words. After the session, a summary of the session was given to the parent as well as recommendations on how to improve at home, such as frequent reading.

The East Cobb Branch of AYLUS holds tutoring sessions every Saturday at the East Cobb Library to provide free tutoring sessions for Elementary and Middle school students to find help for school subjects by seeking the help of older students.
