In June 2021, the AYLUS Birmingham Branch began volunteering at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. Members adopted the pollinator display and, since then, have removed weeds and unwanted vegetation from the garden. After completing the clean-up, volunteers began planting flowering plants for the honeybees to pollinate. The garden is also on display for visitors to enjoy and learn what kinds of flora are local to the Alabama region and can be grown in backyards or pots. Members of the Birmingham Branch have also helped in the vegetable gardens and greenhouse, harvesting crops and repotting various plants.
