It’s the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.
Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In September, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.
On September 13rd, GPA members Leena Chang (4 hrs) organized a “Meal from the Heart” event for local firefighters. More GPA members (1 hr for all), including Xiying Fan, Kathie Wang, Steven Li, Ethan Che, Lina Yang, William Xian, Sarah Xian, Helen Chang, Elizabeth Ma, joined the organizers for the event, hand delivering the meals to the Lawrenceville Volunteer Firefighters (1252 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrence Township, NJ). Elizabeth Ma (9/11, 3 hrs) raised fund to support the firefighters.
GPA members also spent a minute of silence along with the firefighters to remember those we lost 20 years ago and thereafter.
More donation events are coming throughout the state of New Jersey!
