Greater Princeton AYLUS Honors Firefighter Heroes (6th) in Newark Marking the 20th Anniversary of 9/11

The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is coming. The terrorist attacks killed 2,977 people and injured thousands at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Americans host commemorative events at all three sites on the anniversary of the attacks.

Firefighters and their families sacrifice a lot to save lives, who deserve our honor and respect, especially at this memorial moment. In September, the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued an event called “Meals from the Heart”. GPA members honor our firefighter heroes in our community in our unique way.

On September 7th, GPA member Yan Fischer (4 hrs) organized a “Meals from the Heart” event for local firefighters. GPA members (1 hr for all), including Roan Stout, Mingyi Xu, and Nico Fischer, joined the organizer for the event, hand delivering the meals to the Newark’s South Orange Volunteer Firefighters (56 Sloan Street, South Orange, NJ 07079).

More donation events are coming in September throughout the state of New Jersey!
