Into September, members of the Greater Princeton branch of AYLUS (GPA) worked on preparing backpacks and school supplies collected for students at Montgomery Township’s Recreation Building (356 Skillman Road, Montgomery, NJ).
Montgomery Township has been seeking donors for its Annual Backpack and School Supplies Drive in August. The drive benefits children who are low-income and in need of school supplies and new backpacks.
The municipal employees, local businesses, organizations, and residents have donated backpacks and school supplies that have benefited many children. The items are distributed to children from low-income families who attend the public schools and are entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
You may choose to donate book bags or school supplies or both! Items that can be donated include book bags, notebooks, binders, folders, loose-leaf paper, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, scissors, glue sticks, and other school supplies.
Participants (9/1): Catherine Feng (4 hrs), Kevin Zhao (2 hrs), Ella Sun (2 hrs), Emma Sun (2 hrs), Ryan Tian (3 hrs), Tiffany Tian (3 hrs), Grace Li (2 hrs), Meisu Wang (2 hrs).
