Greater Princeton AYLUS Continues Education Help Program (55th) in July 2021

In July, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) students continued their Education Help Program. As school ends and summer break starts, some middle school students are looking for tutoring classes to improve their academic skills in classes like math, science, or reading. Because of this, GPA is holding tutoring opportunities in core subjects.

This week, GPA member Kevin Song (7/25, 3 hrs) began with a question of the day. Then students practiced with some problems and listened to an explanation of linear and quadratic equations. They did more practice and learned what FOIL meant (first, outer, inner, last terms) and how to combine these terms. They did more practice to grasp this concept. GPA member Sophia Song (7/27, 2 hrs) helped her tutee with Algebra 2. GPA member Annie Miao (7/28, 2 hrs) and her tutee finished up their discussion on ratios and proportions as a part of their summer math review. They went through multi-step word problems with ones that might include factor labeling.

The program allows GPA members to provide reading, writing, speaking, communication, and more to their students across the country.
