On Sunday, 5/23, for 2 hours, the members of the Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) Light as a Feather Club hosted its birding lesson over Zoom.
We were reviewing bird etiquette and common birds from last class, giving a tutorial on how to use a bird identification bot and how to make a custom list. There was also a fun activity to go along with it. We also taught them how to use binoculars to get an optimal view of birds, good places in the area to birdwatch, and gave some information regarding the birding programs at Plainsboro Preserve.
We also made a custom list with birds in our area of members choosing, and now that it is set up, they can practice identifying these birds in their free time. All of these were included on the prepared slides .
We posted our presentation, any helpful resources, and additional materials in the discord server.
