In December 2020, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) teamed up and continued teaching kids in the subjects of math.
GPA members Karen Yang (12/13, 2 hrs), Kevin Song (12/13, 2 hrs), Kathy Yang (12/13, 2 hrs): This week we continued our Algebra content! First, we gave the kids a check in question on last week’s exponents. Today we covered radicals/square roots, their relationships with exponents, equations. Kids then did some practice problems, with some challenge problems thrown in too. Next, we discussed the expectation for how to submit homework and also the new number project that kids will complete. Finally, we played a “Blooket” game (which is like a Gamekit) to practice! Then, we assigned homework for the next class. We’ll be having class next Sunday!
GPA member Annie Miao (12/13, 2 hrs): For this week’s tutoring session, Annie taught her 5th-grade student about graphing points and she also had an introduction to graphing lines. They went over various terms such as order pairs, quadrants, slope, and coordinate planes.
GPA member Annabelle Huang (12/13, 2 hrs): Annabelle tutored math to her student in Edison for PSAT preparation this week.
