Oct 16, 2020, East Cobb Branch 2020 Election Phone Banking V

On October 14 and 17 of 2020, two AYLUS members teamed up with GIACE to remind the people of Georgia to vote for the Presidential Election. On October 16, one AYLUS member teamed up with GIACE. GIACE stands for the Georgia Immigrant Alliance for Civic Empowerment and helps to empower immigrants and refugees. The phone banking was important since it allowed the members to get to a lot of people at once.

When the meeting started, both members started calling people right away because they were familiar with the State Voices platform. State Voices was the site used for phone banking and there were around 11,560 initial numbers to call, so the members got through only several hundred. The members would call the individual whose phone number and name were shown on State Voices, then read off of the script that was also included on the platform.

The members enjoyed the experience of being able to help not only GIACE but also the state of Georgia as well.
