On 25 January 2020, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held East Cobb Youth Tutoring program at Mountain View Library. A total of eight students showed up, with two tutors to help the students. It is the first time that the sign-up sheet got fulfilled, the day was marked!
The East Cobb Branch holds the Youth Tutoring program every Saturday during school days, giving kids in the Cobb area an opportunity to receive help. The interaction between tutors and students also makes learning more enjoyable.
This time, the tutors taught eights students, one student was from middle school, other seven students were elementary school students. The tutors worked on a variety of subjects with their students. The program gives students a comfortable environment to ask for help in
academics such as math and reading.
The tutors and students were all very interactive and cooperative. Although some of the students cancelled their lessons, the tutors still kept a good attitude, and did their best. To compensate for the cancelled lessons, the tutors extended each lesson by 10-20 minutes.
Attendance: Katherine Sha (2 hours), Ken Lee (2 hours)
