On the 20th of October, 2019, the Edison Branch of AYLUS Victoria He, Prince Hu, Yumin Li, Xin Chen and Li Zhang volunteered at the Menlo Park Veteran’s Home to entertain the occupants and then take them to “Town Square” (or the main gathering place) for church.
During the residents’ morning coffee, the volunteers talked about a wide range of topics, from the beautiful weather to the overpopulation in some countries. Then, after coffee and a short break, the volunteers wandered through the nursing home, looking for veterans that needed to be taken to church. Before the session, there was a beautiful tune being played on the keys of the piano and some of the veterans and volunteers danced along.
