On August 20th, 2019, San Diego students of AYLUS participated in Waste-Free San Diego’s Coastal Cleanup Day Packing Party. During this event, volunteers worked hours sorting and assembling boxes of coastal clean-up supplies which will be used by volunteers in the future to remove tens of thousands of pounds of litter from San Diego beaches.
The participating volunteers sorted all sorts of items in the boxes, from large plastic bags to dispose waste in to energy bars and sunscreen for the future volunteers. Through this activity, AYLUS San Diego volunteers have indirectly made San Diego beaches a cleaner place.
