On July 16, 2025 afternoon, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch continued their commitment to community service by conducting a monthly food donation in collaboration with a local Methodist church. As part of our ongoing mission to support families in need, especially during the summer months when food insecurity tends to increase, our team collected and delivered over 35 pounds of canned goods and perishable food items. The donation was dropped off at the church’s designated distribution center in the afternoon, where volunteers work diligently to sort and distribute supplies to struggling households in nearby communities.
Summer is a particularly critical time for many families who rely on school meal programs during the academic year. When school is out, access to nutritious food becomes more limited for children, putting extra strain on food banks and local outreach programs. Recognizing this seasonal need, AYLUS Morris Branch members organized a focused food collection effort, reaching out to neighbors, friends, and local stores for contributions. The donation included a variety of canned vegetables, soups, beans, pasta, fruits, as well as fresh bread, produce, and dairy items—ensuring a well-rounded selection for recipients.
By partnering with the Methodist church, we were able to ensure that the food reached the people who needed it most, quickly and efficiently. Church volunteers expressed their gratitude and shared how much the contributions meant to local families who face food shortages on a daily basis. For AYLUS Morris Branch members, the experience reinforced the value of service, teamwork, and compassion. We remain committed to supporting the church’s monthly food drive throughout the year and will continue working to ease hunger in our community. Every meal shared is a step toward a more caring and connected world.
