On July 5, 2019, right after Independence Day, Greater Princeton, NJ Branch of AYLUS (GPA) musicians performed at The Atrium Senior Living of Princeton, an assisted senior living community that provides expert, compassionate support and a safe, healing environment in New Jersey. Special thanks to their excellent cello teacher, Mrs. Dicker, who arranged two ensemble practice sessions before the group’s performance at The Atrium Senior Living.
Kevin Song, Victor Song, Amber Yu, Ashley Zhang, Blenda Guo and other students arrived at The Atrium at 5:30 pm. They were all dressed nicely and quickly tune and set up their instruments. Mrs. Dicker and her students played Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach, El Grillo, Be Thou My Vision, Bach 2 Part Invention in A minor, Bach/Gounod Ave Maria, and Anchors Away. Victor Song played a solo after the ensemble. Kevin Song also played a solo with piano accompaniment.
This was a very special Friday evening to be able to celebrate with the seniors! Using music and passion, during the 2 hours of performance, the GPA members were able to bring the local senior community lots of joy and happiness. Everyone had a great time during the performance and absolutely loved the teacher and the young musicians! The group had performed at The Atrium Senior Living many times during the past few years. The Atrium’s coordinator expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the young musicians for preparing for tonight’s performance.
