On Sunday, June 22, 2025, 8 members of the Bellaire branch volunteered from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
The Houston Food Bank is a non-profit organization based in Houston, Texas. Its mission is to reduce food insecurity (limited and/or inconsistent access to nutritious food) in Houston by providing meals for less fortunate families by utilizing donations from members of the community and partners such as HEB and Fiesta.
At this event, volunteers worked in the carousel section of the Houston Food Bank. Volunteers sanitized and organized donations into several categories, such as Dried Groceries or Drinks/Condiments, and carefully disposed of expired or damaged donations. By the end of the three hours, volunteers contributed to the completion of 17 pallets, providing meals to roughly 13,667 meals and feeding 1,139 families (of four).
