The AYLUS Morris Branch recently partnered with a local Presbyterian Church to carry out a successful summer clothing drive, aimed at supporting families in need during the warmer months. Demonstrating compassion and a strong commitment to community service, student volunteers led the effort to collect gently used and new summer clothing. Throughout the drive, they gathered a total of 158 items, including crop leggings, dresses, shorts, skirts, and other lightweight garments suitable for hot weather. These donations were intended to bring comfort and dignity to individuals who may be struggling to access seasonal clothing.
On the afternoon of June 24, the collected items were carefully sorted and organized by the student volunteers. At 5:30 PM, the donations were dropped off at the Presbyterian Church’s collection bin, where they will be distributed to those in need through the church’s outreach programs. The drive served as a meaningful example of how local youth can mobilize resources and work together to make a tangible difference in their community.
This project gave AYLUS Morris Branch members the opportunity to practice leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills, while also developing a deeper understanding of the importance of giving back. The successful completion of the clothing drive highlights the impact that dedicated young people can have when they collaborate with trusted community partners. AYLUS Morris Branch looks forward to continuing this type of outreach and fostering a spirit of service among its members and the broader community.
