On June 7th, 2025,from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, two volunteers provided tutoring at the Parkville Library branch, assisting students in second, fifth,and sixth grades. Kevin worked with a 6th grader in English conventions and writing such as writing about sports while in math he tutored the student in adding and subtracting negatives. He also helped fifth grade student word problems and fractions, improving their skills in math. Alivia helped two second graders with reading and paragraph writing comprehension. They read books together and focused on writing complete sentences into clear, structured paragraphs, boosting both reading comprehension and writing skills.Each student made a lot of progress during the session, and the volunteers were encouraged by their improvement. We’re proud of the students’ efforts and thankful for our volunteers’ dedication. We look forward to seeing continued growth in the sessions to come.
