Greater Princeton AYLUS Served Meals at Cornerstone Community Kitchen in Princeton

Reported by Amber Yu

Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) attended the Cornerstone Community Kitchen in Princeton (PCCK) on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. PCCK offers free and nutritious meals every week, with volunteers serve meals on Wednesdays.

Within the two hours, for myself, I served more than 20 people spaghetti, meatballs, fresh fruit salad, and bread  First, I was told whom I was serving, and then I got in line to collect the food. After this process, I went to the correct table to serve. When the people who were being served, finished, I took away their dishes and sent them to be cleaned.

PCCK was a nice place where some people would come for the food, others for the fellowship and friendly atmosphere. It was a pleasant experience working at the community kitchen. I feel happy for the older people and the young kids who were enjoying their food and taking some food bags home. As long as time permits, GPA members will come back to serve them some more for sure.
