Founded on August 30, 2022, the AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch has built a strong presence in the community through active volunteerism. Originally established by Yongxi Hu (President), Mengyu He (Vice President), and Yangxuezhe Sun (Secretary), the chapter updated its leadership team on December 18, 2023. The current leaders are President Yongxi Hu , Vice Presidents Yangxuezhe Sun and Tommy Tang , and Secretary Ryan Kan .
Starting with a small group of three, the chapter has grown significantly, established a volunteer service group comprising both parents and volunteers, totaling 347 members as of October 2024. This enthusiastic team has organized 110 volunteer events, impacting over 5,000 community members in Rancho Cucamonga and neighboring areas. Key activities include:
Food Bank Volunteering: Since February 4, 2023, the chapter has held 32 food bank events, contributing 164 volunteer hours and supporting 483 individuals in need.
With each project, AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga continues to grow and deepen its impact, fostering community connections and making a positive difference through youth-led service.
Branch Leadership Yangxuezhe(Harry) Sun is one of the original founders of the Rancho Cucamonga branch and is currently an 11th-grade student with a variety of interests. He is a varsity water polo player on his high school team, demonstrating resilience and commitment. Additionally, he is the President of his school’s AI Club, where he actively promotes the understanding of artificial intelligence. He also enjoys drumming and has a strong interest in computer programming. As a certified volunteer, he not only participates in regular branch activities but frequently teaches classes for kids, using engaging methods to spark their interest in technology. Yangxuezhe is also active in city events, establishing himself as a respected young contributor to the community.
Ryan Kan – Vice President Ryan Kan is an 11th-grade student at Los Osos High School and an active member of the AYLUS RC Branch. He joined the branch in sixth grade and has since taken part in nearly 100 volunteer events, becoming deeply familiar with its procedures and dedicated to its mission.
Outside of his service work, Ryan’s interests span photography, coding personal projects, shooting hoops, and strumming his guitar. Academically, he maintains strong grades and holds certification as a volunteer leader. His passion for community service and diverse pursuits continues to drive him to contribute his time and energy both at school and within the branch.
Minghao Shi- Vice President Minghao (David) Shi is a 9th-grade student at Rancho Cucamonga High School. He is the founder and president of the Biology Club, which supports students by preparing them for biology olympiads. As a junior varsity tennis player, he maintains a strong balance between academics and athletics. In his free time, David enjoys relaxing through sleep and video games.
Yifan Ping (Angela) is an incoming freshman to Los Osos High School. Loving mathematics, she has scored a perfect score on a state test. For the love of instruments she has also been selected for her high school’s choir team. Being a certified volunteer, she not only participates in branch activities, but also schedules volunteer opportunities at her homeschool- Day Creek Intermediate. Yifan Ping establishes how a respected contributor to their community should be like.
