On December 17th, AYLUS Great Neck Branch organized its weekly event which offered an opportunity for special needs children to engage in a variety of physical activities. This marks the 8th time that the event was been held since it’s start in the tail end of September. Today, we mostly played tag around the park, with baseball and tag also in the mix. The three children fared well with our 3 branch members and had fun while getting a good amount of exercise. On top of that, the kids worked on important mental skills such as sharing and teamwork. After a week of unfortunate inconveniences, I’m glad that the event can get back on track. Overall, today’s experience was very enjoyable, and I’m delighted that we had the opportunity to organize it.
