During the Thanksgiving break (November 18-26), seven members from our branch made a variety of gifts including paper origami, heart-shaped pillows, hats, journals, and bracelets for Kits to Heart (KTH). KTH is a non-profit organization that has a mission to bring smiles and solidarity to those affected by cancer.
Our members hope to help these people by giving them these gifts to make them feel cared for, supported, and more comfortable during their treatment journey. With small acts of kindness as our universal language, we wish to remind those battling cancer that they are not alone and that there are people who support them; thus, we hope that the colorful gifts will bring them smiles and support their brave fight against cancer.
The members showed great dedication and creativity in their work, resulting in an impressive collection of gifts. The following is a breakdown of what each team member contributed: Lingfei Tang and Xuanjin Zhu made 12 heart pillows; Xinya Pan made one hat; Halley Zhong made 5 friendship bracelets; Taylor Zhong and Lucy Zhao made 32 origami pieces,; Taylor Zhong made 12 journals; Claire Zhong made 8 journals.
