On April 27, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 24th Computer for Kids Lab to repair computers and give them to children of low-income families to help kids achieve academic success through technology.
The students tested, repaired, and cleaned 285 tablets. They sorted, cleaned, wrapped, and boxed 560 tablet power cords.
So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:
- Diagnosed, repaired, and tested 3,880 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
- Tested and repaired 1,316 LCD monitors
- Diagnosed and tested 426 hard drives
- Boxed 150 netbooks for distribution
- Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 10,707 mice, and power cords/adaptors
All the laptops/netbooks/notebooks will be donated to children of needed families so they can have a computer to work at home.
The following students participated in the 24th Computer for Kids Lab: Benjamin Guo, Jeffrey Guo, Nathan Guo, Enoch Huang, Anthony Jiang, Claire Jiang, Chengming Li, Chengda Li, James Li, William Sun, Mike Wang, Gary Wu, Kyne Xie, Jason Xu, and Ricky Xu.
Stephen Yang, Christopher Yang, and Andrew Zhang organized the 24th Computer for Kids Lab.
