The AYLUS Dix Hills works with Island Harvest to provide food and other essential goods to families, seniors, and veterans in need. Volunteers prepared for food distribution by packing eggs, bundles of cabbage, and bags of chicken so that the food was ready to be distributed for families. Seniors were given additional “senior boxes” that were filled with food like canned soup, tomato sauce, and rice, and veterans were given sunscreen and laundry detergent. After the distribution was over volunteers cleaned the warehouse by stacking crates and picking up any trash left behind.
