Volunteers from AYLUS worked with Journey’s End Refugee Service, an organization whose mission is to help refugees adjust to the United States and assist them to become independent and involved members of their community, on April 3rd, 2023 at their April Break day camp.
After teaching a series of selected vocabulary words regarding the classroom and schoolwork, volunteers assisted the children with puzzles and other fun activities and led the students through a game of Simon Says to strengthen the children’s understanding of one of their vocabulary terms, “follow directions”.
Volunteers: Emma Zhang, Andrew Jiang, Yonten Gyatso, David Cong (3.5 hours)
