On Sunday from 1:30 pm- 5:00 pm, the Roslyn AYLUS branch helped out at a school of the Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island.
We had a fun-filled day helping out kids at school. At the beginning of the class, we went over the vocabulary cards and also played several exciting games, in which the kids could review all the things they had learned before and remember them more firmly. Today they have a Chinese exam to check their current learning progress and results. Most of the kids participated great and answered all the questions correctly during the exam. After finishing the Chinese exam we help kids learn new vocabulary. Class time ended with the teacher playing YouTube for the kids to learn Chinese songs.
During the hour of Cultural Activities, we were assigned the same post which was art-n-crafts. Today in art-n-crafts we are making a fish, it was enjoyable to help out the students make their unique fish. As simple as it may seem, handling little kids isn’t easy. You need to keep the kids safe so that they don’t get hurt by the scissors. At the same time, you need to help them make the perfect fish.
