Murrieta AYLUS Helps with Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley #1 – ABWK project (9/17/22)

Reported by Julie Lu

On September 17, 2022, Murrieta AYLUS members Trisha Leungsikul, KaiXi (Cathy) Liu, Jessica Lu, Adora Xiao, and Hsin Chen(Julie) Lu participated in helping the Habitat for Humanity Inland Valley with repainting houses whose exteriors had been worn down over the years.

The members met together early in the morning at the house painting site. Before we began, the staff informed everyone of safety rules to follow and demonstrated how to paint a house. The members worked together on the front side of one house. The members worked together on the front of one house, helping paint the front wall, the banisters, and the column bases. With everyone’s combined efforts, the houses got done in no time. The staff showed how to fold the tarps neatly and set them to one side as everyone was finishing up with the final touches.

The members had a great time and enjoyed working with many different people. We look forward to doing something like this again!
