On August 11 and 12, 2022, a handful of AYLUS Bellaire Branch members participated in fundraising for their own branch at the Dragon Academy’s two locations. The main items that were sold included gently used books, beverages like milk tea and sodas, as well as popcorn with a variety of colors.
Ever since the end of July, AYLUS Bellaire leaders had begun discussing ways to fundraise for their own branch, with selling popcorn being the most welcomed idea. Upon finding out that Dragon Academy would be having two end-of-the-year parties, the leaders began to prepare flyers/signs, collect books, preorder beverages, and get the popcorn for the big events. On the first day August 11th, things didn’t go too well due to issues with timing, so the members had made around $42. The next day, however, AYLUS members worked hard to sell out almost all of their inventory, with final sales going well past $300. All the members were tired after the long events, but it was well worth their time.
