The AYLUS Birmingham Branch has continued working with the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on various projects. On May 14, 2022, AYLUS members helped with the Gardens’ pop-up plant sale, transporting and organizing the plants for sale. Afterwards, volunteers moved to the vegetable gardens, where they weeded an empty section of land. They then dug two shallow trenches and planted three varieties of sweet potatoes, where they will continue to be watered and grow. A few AYLUS members also helped water the other vegetables, which was much needed in this hot weather.
