On July 1st, AYLUS Great Neck participated in the first Great Neck Park District Farmers Market. Since last year, our stock of homemade items has increased substantially, and the quality of our homemade items has also improved. The first Farmers Market of the season marks a major start in another way we can help the community. Some of AYLUS Great Neck activities require some official backing, so the Farmers market lets us back these without putting financial burdens on the families of volunteers. The rest of the money will be donated to low-income/various non-profits. Our morning started at 9:30 when a volunteer arrived early to secure a good spot and set up the required tables for our stand to function. The event started from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and we split the work into 2 shifts of 2 hours each. Each shift contains people who would run a face paint station, a custom fan-making station, a custom bracelet station, and cashiers. Over the course of the Farmers market, we successfully raised over 350$. We did extremely well to run stations and encounter no issues. While we did well, there are places of improvement, and I look forward to our next market.
