Greater Princeton & Far Beyond AYLUS Crafting for Connections Supports Children with Special Needs (1st) in May 2025

In May, the Greater Princeton & Far Beyond Branch of AYLUS (GPA) Crafting for Connections Committee hosted events at the Ady Art Center to support children with special needs.

The Ady Art Center buzzed with creativity and community spirit Friday evening as it partnered with GPA for another Pipe Cleaner Craft Sale and Free Crafting Event in honor of Autism Awareness Month.

Every time, children of Ady Art Center enjoyed free crafting in between the breaks led by enthusiastic GPA volunteers. Participants made colorful cartoon rings, using vibrant pipe cleaners and their imaginations.

The event, part of the Crafting Connections initiative by GPA, aimed not only to celebrate creativity but also to give back to the community. All proceeds from the craft sale were donated to support children’s hospitals and children with special needs.

Through Crafting Connections, GPA is excited to walk into the local community, spreading creativity and compassion.

GPA is to host monthly crafting sessions and sales moving forward, providing ongoing opportunities for community members to engage, create, and support important causes.

The success of Friday’s event highlights the powerful role that youth-led initiatives and local partnerships can play in fostering inclusion, awareness, and community involvement.
