Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (60th) (8/1/2024)

Reported by Jessica Lu :

On August 1st, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members volunteered at their local food bank.
After checking in, members started by sorting produce. They were given 2 carts of boxes of unsorted produce and patiently sorted through them. When they finished, the boxes of veggies/fruits were filled with lemons/limes, apples, potatoes, onions, cabbage, and more. After putting away the carts, members split up, with some going outside to help and the others staying inside. Inside, members made fresh produce bags so it would be easier to make food boxes. They were in charge of putting produce and bread in each food box. Outside, members helped carry food boxes/bags into each client’s car and got them flowers. When it was time to cleanup, members wiped down the tables and threw away the trash before putting carts back inside.
