The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteered at Valley Stream State Park to help clean up bamboo shoots. Volunteers primarily worked to get rid of bamboo and other tree branches, with several piles of bamboo being moved to an area easy to access in order to transport them in the future. Volunteers wore protective glasses and gloves to protect themselves, and managed to get rid of an over a truckload of bamboo, wood and trash in the time that they were there. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:30 to help get rid of bamboo.
Volunteers: Bryan Fan (3.5 hrs), Jonathan Fan (3 hrs), and Jake Wu (3 hrs).
