On February 3, 2024, a team of dedicated AYLUS Pearland members volunteered at Ed White Elementary school’s Saturday tutoring program. Their primary objective was to provide invaluable assistance to the students in various academic areas, particularly reading and math. These volunteers were specifically assigned to collaborate with the teachers, aiming to provide enhanced learning and education opportunities to the students. As part of the day’s activities, the students had the opportunity to rotate between different classrooms, each focusing on different subjects such as English and math.
Through their tutoring efforts, these volunteers not only helped underrepresented student groups gain access to more resources but also had the opportunity to learn from the students themselves, thanks to their enthusiasm and unique perspectives.
