The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteers at Welwyn Preserve County Park to help clean up the trails. Volunteers brought along trash bags and gloves as they hiked along the trails, and cleaned up the area without disturbing the natural environment there. While walking along the 2.4-mile long trail, various items were found, including water bottles, glass, plastic, old clothing, and other types of litter. The amount of thrown away cans numbered in the dozens, and primarily made up the bulk of the garbage found along the trail. Volunteers worked from 2:00 to 3:30 to help get rid of trash scattered around.
Volunteers: Bryan Fan (2 hrs) and Jonathan Fan (1.5 hrs).
