On December 22nd, the Plano and Frisco branches of AYLUS lit up Plano’s Pioneer Place Senior Housing with an orchestral and vocal performance. Prior to arriving at the senior housing, performers conducted a rehearsal before the concert.
Philip baked a delicious treat for the senior home residents, creating 30 egg tarts. Along with these culinary delights, the seniors were treated to handmade Christmas cards, each crafted with the volunteer’s heartfelt sentiments. The musical performance kicked off with a trio of Christmas melodies: O Holy Night, Joy to the World, and The First Noel. For the second act, featuring Victoria, who took center stage for a wonderful piano solo of “One Summer Day.” The third act was performed by Alice, who had the crowd mesmerized with her singing the track “Sweet Honey.” Victoria was the piano accompanist. The fourth piece, Chrysanthemum Station, was performed by Alex Lin with beautiful, flowing melodies. Lucie He performed the fifth act, playing the song “Once Upon December,” with the crowd nodding their head with the music. The sixth performance let Alice perform a classic song, “Rondo from Concerto No. 3.” Tiffany also kept the trend of classical music by playing “Petite Gavotte” on the flute. The ninth performance saw Charlotte and Amanda play together to perform the duet “Quintus,” blending together with a flowing sound. For the final piece, Lucy Sun on the piano performed “The Dragon Hunt,” gathering the audience’s applause. This performance full of holiday spirit brought the seniors a great afternoon right before Christmas, giving them a show they surely won’t forget for a long time.
