On December 17, 2023, the Pearland Branch hosted the highly anticipated sixth edition of Pearland My Play Club, collaborating seamlessly with various non-profit organizations to orchestrate a memorable Holiday Special Session. This exceptional event showcased two distinctive themes—an inclusive playdate and an exclusive holiday portrait session, thoughtfully designed for special needs individuals.
As the day unfolded, a dedicated team of volunteers assembled at the Ed Thompson inclusive playground early in the morning, diligently setting the stage for a day filled with joy. Their meticulous preparations encompassed a diverse range of activities, including enchanting face painting, engaging holiday crafts, vibrant coloring sessions, and a delightful hot chocolate station strategically positioned in the training room. The festive ambiance was further heightened with the delightful presence of Santa, contributing an extra layer of joy to the occasion.
Amidst the excitement, volunteers took the opportunity to promote AYLUS and its collaborative partners among the parents as the children immersed themselves in the various activities. A remarkable total of 85 kids actively participated in the playdate, while 15 special needs individuals had the special privilege of having their holiday portraits taken. The event proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
