On 10/28/23, members of the AYLUS Syosset branch attended the Cornell Cooperative Extension Nassau Farmers’ Market at Eisenhower Park for the last time of the 2023 season. The farmers market provides a space for local and small business to sell their goods, as well as for residents to enjoy goods like fresh produce, bakery items, and homemade jam just to name a few.
The volunteers helped with setting up at the beginning, with the market beginning at 9:00 AM and cleaning up at the end, after 12:00PM. During the market, volunteers worked at the welcome booth containing information about the market as well as the activity booth which had a plethora of coloring activities, mazes and word searches as well as a Garden in a Glove activity. The next time the farmers market opens will be 2024.
