The AYLUS Great Neck Branch organized an event for special needs children, creating an opportunity for the children to stretch their mental capacities as well as experience the pleasant weather and foliage in a scavenger hunt spread across a trail in Kings Point Park. The volunteers decorated the park with seasonal signs to guide the children along the trail. The children were given a set of tasks to fulfill, including finding a maple leaf, finding a painted rock that the volunteers decorated a week beforehand, finding a plastic pumpkin containing a prize, taking a picture of an animal, and taking a family photo. The volunteers accompanied the children throughout the tour to assist in guiding them. At the end of the trail, a goodie bag prize was awarded to them for completing the tasks, and two volunteers put on a performance with Chinese Yo-yos for entertainment.
