On 30 September 2023, AYLUS RSM Volunteered at a “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event in Sendero Field, Rancho Mission Viejo. Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a part if the Alzheimer’s Association, specifically, Walk to End Alzeihmer’s is a national suborganization that raises funds to donate to groups and organizations who care for, support, and research Alzheimer’s and those afflicted by it. Currently, around 6 million American’s have Alzheimer’s and from 2000-2019, the Alzheimer’s related deaths have mre than doubled. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in Sendero Field is one of many hosted nationwide, where participation is free and one can walk to end a crippling, heartbreaking disease that is affecting the entire world.
Our members first showed up at the crack of dawn to assist in setting up the event, later, as the Sun rose, we began guiding the first participants to the park. Once all of the preperation was finished and the event was about to start, we transitioned to cheering and supporting the participants as the event began. Finally, after everything was concluded, we asissted in clearing the park to ensure that nothing was leftover to contaminate the park. This event allowed us to support the Alzheimer’s Associations ultimate goal in finding a cure to Alzheimer’s and allowed us to directly support those working to help end it.
