On Monday, September 4, Murrieta AYLUS members conducted a beach cleanup.They started in the parks surrounding the beach, cleaning up the stray pieces of plastic and food dropped on the grass. The parks appeared to be cleaner than usual, however still housed many candy wrappers, plastic utensils, and bits of pieces of other paper and plastic trash. After looping around the parks, the volunteers went down to the sand to clean the small bits of plastic left on the shore. They uncovered many pieces of discarded plastic, before rounding out to the parking lot area. They then tossed their filled plastic bags, proud of their work.
