On Sunday, August 13th, members of the Syosset branch of AYLUS continued teaching Chinese to children. To begin the class, children were being asked their hobbies and were taught how to say them while introducing themselves in Chinese. During the first half of the class, volunteers continued teaching children how to read time in Chinese as well as how to use time in real-world sentences. After a short break, the volunteers read Chinese stories to the children and asked questions relating to the story. While reading, children were taught unfamiliar vocabularies, and was able to summarize the story in Chinese. For homework, the students were responsible for reviewing new vocabularies at home.
