On Saturday, August 5th, AYLUS volunteers coached tennis as part of their continued summer tennis lessons for fundraising. This lesson was the concluding lesson for the tennis summer fundraiser which also included a party at the end of the lesson.
To start the lesson, the students were guided through a quick warmup before dividing into beginner and intermediate groups. The intermediate class played games like King of the Court and Winner to work on all strokes including forehands, backhands, volleys, and overheads while the beginner class continued to develop their strokes and ended with the King of the Court. To wrap up class, students cooled down with some stretches.
Finally, after class had concluded, Aylus Pearland handed out individualized certificates and medals to each of the students who had partaken in the summer tennis lessons. They also enjoyed ice cream and popsicles to celebrate the end of another successful year of tennis lessons.
